Newest Features (May, 2003): XML Feeds, Dynamic Folders, Category View, Bug
Fixes
There's so much new stuff on BlinkPro that we can only give each feature
a brief description here. It will be up to you, the user, to try out the
new features and let us know what you think. Here's a brief
overview:
XML Feeds (BETA): Many of our
users have asked us to let them import their public folders into their
website or blog and have total control over the appearance and
display. Now, with XML Feeds you can get
your hands dirty. Every public folder has its own XML feed and your
member page has one large feed with all of your public
information. This program is still in beta so be sure to give us your feedback.
Dynamic Folders (BETA): Have
you ever wanted to use BlinkPro for more than just bookmarks? Well
with our new Dynamic Folder
capability you can have news headlines and other dynamic content automatically added to your BlinkPro account
every day! Just create a Dynamic Folder from the 'Folder' dropdown
menu, and enter a URL or an XML (RSS) feed you wish to track. BlinkPro will
then automatically scan the page every day and create bookmarks from
all the links on that page. Dynamic Folders is also still in beta, so be
sure to give us your feedback.
Category
View: Categories seem to be an area of frequent interest (and
occasional confusion) for BlinkPro users. In order to make them more
useful we've added the new Categories mode to the My Sites tab which
allows you to view all of your sites within any category regardless of
their place in any of your folders. This is a great way to get organized!
Bug Fixes: Hopefully you haven't come across any bugs while using
BlinkPro. But others have, and we've fixed a number of them. Here's a
brief list of some of the newest fixes:
- Safari Blink It!: Blink It! is now working properly on
Apple's Safari browser. There should be no need to reinstall
Blink It!.
- IE 6.0 Export: Automatic export is now working on IE
6.0. Previously this was only available on IE 5.5.
- Grab Sites: Numerous bugs relating to Grab Sites have
been fixed. These may have caused relative links on web pages to
be improperly formatted once 'grabbed.'
- Shared Subfolders: If you share a folder with another
user and have subfolders with sharing set to 'Inherit' the
subfolders will now appear in the other users' folders.
- Folder Placement: The default placement for new folders has
been changed to be the current folder.
Phew! Keep those bug reports coming, we're committed to continued
improvement in your BlinkPro experience.
November, 2002: Newest Sites, Sort by Create Date
You asked, we delivered. We received a number of email requests
from BlinkPro users who wanted to see a list of the sites they
recently added to their accounts. Now, there are two new ways to do
it:
1. On the right side of the Home tab is a new list of sites: My
Recently Added. This convenient list lets you easily get back
to the sites you're using right now.
2. On the My Sites tab there's a new Created column next to
each bookmark. As always, you can sort the
bookmarks in any folder by clicking on the column titles. This is an
easy way to see which sites you've recently added within a given
folder. Note: sorting is unavailable on the 'All Sites' mode on 'My Sites.'
August, 2002: Grab Sites, Tell Friends, and More!
We're always looking to improve the BlinkPro experience with new
features and fixes. We're happy to announce three major improvements
that we hope you'll try out and enjoy. Suggestions, as always, are welcome.
1. Grab Sites lets you capture
ALL the links on a web page into your BlinkPro account.
Have you ever been researching a topic and found a great Web page
of links you wanted to add to your bookmarks all at once? Now you
can. Just choose Grab sites from the Tools menu on My Sites, or use
the link on the Blink It! button.

2. Tell Friends lets you spread the word about BlinkPro,
while earning FREE months.
It's easy to earn THREE FREE MONTHS of BlinkPro. All you have to do
is send an email to your friends, or put a link on your web page to
BlinkPro. Whenever anyone signs up (and pays) for BlinkPro from your
links you'll get three free months added to your subscription. You can
also track visitors to your member page and other cool stats.

3. Email from the Blink It!
Now, it's easy to email any site you come across to your friends or
colleagues. Just use the Blink It! to add the site to your account,
but instead of pressing the Save button, press the Email
button. That's it. We're already finding this incredibly useful. We
hope you'll agree.
Let us know what you think about these new features and keep
watching out for further improvements.
